Are you getting enough Sleep?
Sleep is very important, and not getting enough of it can affect not only your day, but your body and mind. Make sleep a priority. It is known that lack of sleep causes higher stress levels, immune issues, blood sugar imbalances, and other issues as well. Some ways to improve your sleeping habits include:
- Have both a wake-up alarm and a bedtime alarm. Set an alarm to remind yourself that it is time to get ready for bed and go to sleep. Set it at a reasonable time, giving you enough time to sleep.
- Avoid watching TV or using your cell phone in bed. Create a comfortable and relaxing sleeping environment and use it only for sleep. Working or watching TV in your bedroom keeps your mind active, making it more difficult to fall asleep early.
Start the New Year with a glass of water. Rather than grabbing that soda in the refrigerator, take the bottle of water. An easy way to make sure you are getting enough water is by starting your day with a glass of lemon water. This will get you hydrated for the day but will also benefit your digestion and skin. Another way is by always bringing a water bottle with you wherever you go to remind you to drink water.
